Finding Long Tail Keyword Is A Must If You Want To Rank

To better understand the benefits of long tail keywords, I will start off by providing a little bit of an explanation of what long tail keywords are then I will move on to finding long tail keyword that will help you rank better in the search engines.

Whenever you perform searches on Google or any other search engine like yahoo, you are actually using keywords to find the information that you need. Any term you type in the search engine is a keyword( the term keyword was really confusing when I got started online)

keywords you search for basically fall into two categories:

The head keywords

These are the very broad keywords (or search terms) that we would use when trying to find out information about an interest or category of products. For example, “alarm clock” would be ahead keyword.

It is going to return all different types of results for all different types of alarm clock brands, accessories, repair shops and so on. you will usually take these broad results and start filtering through and refining your searches until you find the exact information that you are looking for.

Long Tail keywords.

These are typically used when you know exactly what it is you’re searching for. You’ve probably done a fair amount of research and now you may want to search for something like “Philips Wake-up Light with Sunrise Simulation alarm clock”. The results that are returned from this query are going to be much more specific, because your search term was also much more specific.

What Are The Benefits Of Longtail Keywords?

You may wonder why you need to use long tail keywords so I will try to make it as simple as I can.

When using a head keyword there will be much more competition from some top sites to get top rankings on Google. In fact, it may be extremely difficult to even break into the first 20 pages of the search engines.

If you think about some examples of when you’re doing research, how often do you go scanning through the first 10 pages of search results?

It just doesn’t happen most of the time. Usually, if we don’t find what we’re looking for on the first page or two, we will refine our search term in an attempt to get better results.

So even though there may be 100,000 searches each month for a particular head keyword, if you’re unable to get top rankings for that word, it is not actually going to generate any traffic to your website meaning all the work you did was for more or less nothing.

Now, let’s compare that to using a long tail keyword, which by the way, make up about 70% of all searches performed.

When using a very specific search term that is several words in length, this is going to generate many fewer results, which means there is a lot less competition.

Less competition, of course, is going to make your chances of getting listed on that coveted first page much more likely.

Check The Example Below

In the example below I searched for hobbies for retired people. If I had only searched hobbies, it would have produced many more monthly searches

snagit pic jaaxy

Now, there are going to be far fewer searches performed each month on these long tail keywords. In many cases, it may be well under 100.

But ask yourself this… is it better to receive 10, 15, or even 20% of 100 highly targeted searches a month or 0% of 1000,000 broad searches each month? I’m guessing that you went with the former and not the latter.

Another thing is, long tail keywords are performed by people ready to take action. If someone searched the word “hobby”, it`s just that, a search, but someone searching a more targeted long tail keyword is someone ready to take action.

Long Tail Keywords Don’t Produce Enough Visitors:

The use of long tail keywords are going to produce traffic based on the number of pages on your website that are utilizing this strategy.

It is intended to bring very highly targeted, quality traffic into many of the different pages that you have on your site. However, because there are typically far fewer searches for a complete and specific phrase that would be the case for a single word, the traffic numbers may or may not be chart-busting.

It’s a numbers game; the more pages or posts that you have that utilize this technique, the more visitors you will be able to draw to your site.

An important thing to keep in mind is that the long tail keyword will help bring in traffic from your target audience, so make sure you know how to determine your target audience for the best results.

One other advantage to using this technique is that Google and the other search engines really like websites that have a bunch of content.

The more pages you have on your website, the more you will be viewed as an “authority” and your rankings will get an additional boost because of that. Pretty cool, huh?

As you can now understand, the head keywords have a much higher search volume, however, the competition is also much, much higher.

Conversion rates are also significantly lower because the traffic is not as targeted. After all, a one or two-word search term (keyword) is going to be very broad.

By the way, the conversion rate simply means that the visitor has participated in some sort of action that you were aiming for. Maybe they purchased something, signed up for a service or even joined your mailing list.

Benefits Of Longtail Keywords

Now, let’s looking at the long tail keywords above,You can see that the search volume is considerably lower, maybe even a fraction of the volume that the broader, head keyword has.But an interesting thing happens. The competition is also drastically reduced and the conversion rates are always higher.

This happens because the visitor using long tail keywords are looking for something very specific. Once your visitors get to the point of knowing exactly what they’re looking for, they are much further along in the customer purchase cycle.

This usually means that they are much more likely to part with their hard earned money and purchase a product or service – hopefully from you.

Another Benefit Of Long Tail Keywords:

So far I have been talking mainly about “organic” search results but there are other benefits of long tail keywords which I will mention below. These are the search results that we get when someone types a keyword into Google, or any other search engine, and they find our page in the results. These listing don’t cost us anything.

The other type of search engine results would be PPC (pay-per-click). This is where we bid on certain keywords and basically pay to get the rankings.Looking at the image above, you will notice where it has the little “Ad” icon next to some of the listings. These are PPC listings. Each time that link is clicked, the website owner will pay an advertising fee.

Because these bid amounts can vary from a few cents to several dollars for each click, and since most of us don’t have unlimited budgets, we would want to make sure that we’re getting the most bang for our hard earned bucks.

By using lower competition, long tail keywords, the bid amounts will be substantially lower than would be the case using the head keywords; like the word “apple”.

Determining What The Competition Looks Like:

I’d like to show a couple of screenshots that will demonstrate the different competition levels, as well as keyword quality for different head and long tail keywords. If you’re anything like me, visual aids are much easier to absorb then a bunch of text.

Just so you know, the tool that I’m using for these searches is called Jaaxy. In my opinion, this is by far the most comprehensive and affordable keyword research tool that I’ve come across.

For this example, let’s assume that we’re promoting hotels and vacation packages. One of the pages that we want to promote is focusing on hotels that are near Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

If we are trying to target the head keyword of “hotel”, this is what our results are going to look like:

This is the first 15 results/suggestions that Jaaxy has provided for us. Click through the tabs below to see what each of these columns represent.

  • Keyword
  • Avg
  • Traffic
  • QSR
  • KQI
  • SEO
  • Domains
The first row is the keyword that you’ve entered for your search and then the rows below that are some suggestions for keywords that are based on your original query.

So now let’s take a look at the results of a long tail keyword that is specific to the Disney World hotels that we’re targeting.

Looking at each of the different metrics, Jaaxy has provided us not only with some good information on our original long tail keyword, but it has also given us some information on many other keywords that we may want to target.

You can see many more green lights for the KQI, and the competition is much lower and will make it much easier to break into the top rankings.

A Little Bit On The Customer Purchase Cycle:finding long tail keyword to help you make better sales

I mentioned earlier about the long tail keywords targeting people that are further into the customer purchase cycle, and I thought it would be beneficial to provide a real quick overview on this cycle.

This customer purchase cycle covers three different phases that most people go through prior to making a purchase. Our goal, as internet marketers, is to try to get our information across to people that are in the final phase.

By reaching people that are in this final phase, you should be able to expect that you will receive much higher conversion rates, compared to getting visits from people that are in the first phase of research.

Here’s the breakdown of the three phases:

  • Research Phase: When we’re in this phase, we have maybe just learned about a product that we might be interested in.
Perhaps we’ve been thinking about taking a vacation and want to start finding out destinations that would be appealing.
Whatever the case, this is the phase where we’re focused on researching and learning as much about the item that we can, so we’re able to make an informed decision that we can feel good about.
  • Decision Phase: At this point, we have already pretty much determined what item we are interested in. We may start looking online for some reviews of the product to either enforce our decision, or possibly sway us in another direction if it’s determined that there is a better product or solution available.
  • Purchasing Phase: This final phase is the point that a person actually puts their money out and invests in whichever items or services they’ve been researching in the previous two phases.

By targeting our content to people that are in the second and third stages of this buying cycle, we are able to ensure that visitors to our site will actually find the information that we’re providing to them useful and we should be able to increase our conversion rates at the same time.

Writing a post without checking for low competition keywords does not work, all your competitors are looking for and finding long tail keyword before they settle down to write, you should too.

Now I know I talked quite enough about Jaaxy, is there an alternative you may ask yes there is, but Jaaxy produce good results and is quite affordable should you decide to upgrade after the 30 free searches.

An alternative to Jaaxy, in my opinion, will be the longtailpro.com which you can check here, personally, I can not justify spending the amount they charge.I encourage you to try Jaaxy, with 30 free searches, you really have nothing to lose.

Wrapping It Up:

I hope I’ve been able to shed some light on the many benefits of using long tail keywords and I hope that you can use this strategy in your own online business.

How To SEO An Article [And Mistakes To Avoid]

What Does It Mean To SEO An Article?

If you’re trying to find out how to SEO an article that you’ve written before you post it to your blog, you will be happy to know that it isn’t a real difficult task, but it is a very important one.

In fact, making sure that your article is properly optimized for SEO can make a huge impact on your organic search term rankings.

You’re probably aware that SEO is simply an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. The whole reason that we use SEO is to try to make sure that the search engines (Google in particular) are aware of the contents subject matter that we’re publishing.

In turn, this will help them rank it accordingly,(hopefully higher)because if your post is on page 5 of Google, almost no one will see it.How To SEO An Article

Where Is The Best Place To Start With SEO Optimization?

Keywords

Before you start writing a post, the first thing you need to know is keywords that have low competition.Once you know the topic of the post that you’re preparing to write, you will want to figure out which keywords your post will be focusing on.

In other words, if you were performing a Google search trying to find the exact content that you’re writing about, what search term would you use? I would recommend that you utilize long tail keywords, as these are going to assist in your rankings on the search engines.

If you’re not familiar with long tail keywords, please click on the previous link to learn all about their importance. A great tool that I use for this research is called Jaaxy.

You’ve now got a topic and you’ve selected your focus keywords. Believe it or not, that is the hardest part. So let’s move on and discuss how this is all going to be used to SEO your article.

Let’s Get To SEO Optimization

Proper usage and placement of keywords is vital to getting your pages ranked higher on the search engines.Just as using keywords is important in the process of SEO, overusing them can be damaging to your post.

Techniques such as keyword stuffing, that were used in that past to gain search engine rankings are now part of the search engines algorithms. This means that they will spot those that do it and penalize them!

What does it mean to be penalized by a search engine?  Your site will be penalized so that all of your rankings will be gone!

Your chances of getting ranked for new content nil, Your chances for future organic traffic none, simply said, your site will not be anywhere to be found when people search for your keywords online.

Sometimes these penalties will be lifted by submitting a request, but most have a familiar ending.

Even if they remove the “blacklisting” of the website, most do not survive and end up closing down. In the long run, it’s just not worth the risk of trying to trick the system. How To SEO An Article

How To SEO An Article Correctly

Here’s a list of the things that you will want to do to SEO optimize your articles the right way( All should be done)

Title Tags:

Once you’ve found your focus keyword, use it in the title of your article. If you add it to the front that is optimal, but as long as it’s in there that is what you are after.

You will also want to make sure that your title is the appropriate length. You should aim to keep your title around 50 – 60 characters long.

This way it will not get cut off in the search results. You can see from the snippet below what I’m referring to. This is how this post appears in Google.Read more on title tags here.

Meta Description:

The Meta description gives you the opportunity to give your visitors their first impression of your article, as well as your entire site.

It should be inviting and give them a reason to actually click on your link over your competitors. You should also place your keyword into the meta description.

You’ll want to make sure that the use of your keyword is always natural and never forced. One other thing on the Meta description, it should be under 156 characters in length. This will prevent it from being cut off in the search results.

Here is a complete guide to Meta Description

Heading Tags:(H Tags)

The Heading tags (also referred to as <H> tags) are simply used to apply different header styles to the content within your post.

We use these tags to help break up different sections of the article that we’re writing.

The attached image shows how to select different <H> tags, as well as showing an example of how the text will appear with any of the available tags applied.

The <H1> tag would be used for the title of the page and as previously mentioned, you should have your main keyword in the title. This <H1> should only be used once in your post.

If you’re using a WordPress site, the title will automatically be enclosed in the <H1> tag.

Within the content of your article, you should utilize the other tags as well. It is also a good idea to use the keyword in at least one other Header tag throughout the page (preferably the <H2>), don’t overdo it though.

Images And Alt Tags:

To help avoid your site visitors from getting lost in a sea of text, it is a good idea to insert some images to help break the page and text up. You can SEO your images by naming a relevant image file so that it contains your main keyword.

When inserting an image file into your article, you will also have the opportunity to add an Alt tag.

This Alt tag is essentially a way to describe the picture so that a user who has images disabled in their browser will still be able to tell what the image contains.

Again, relevancy is important, but you should have your keyword listed in the Alt tag as well.

Keyword in URL:

When creating a new post it is a good idea to have the focus keyword in the URL. The great news is that since we are already adding our keywords to our title, it will also be in the URL.

Quality Content:Seal, Seal Of Approval, High, Quality

This one is really important, probably the most important of all of the SEO tips. So please don’t overlook it.

People often times will try to optimize their pages so much for the search engines, that they forget to consider the reader of the content.

When writing, one should put themselves in their readers’ shoes. When people are searching for information on the internet, they are looking for help.

We, as content writers, should provide that helpful information to them in an easy to read and informative way.

It is easy to spot an article that has been over-stuffed with the same keywords and it makes for a very boring read. So boring in fact, that a majority of people will leave your site before ever getting through the first couple of paragraphs.

Now ask yourself, what good does it do to put in all of the effort to get good rankings if nobody actually reads the content that is being provided?

Another thing that we should be aware of is the bounce rate that a site has. When someone visits a website and then leaves too quickly, or before navigating through any of the pages, other than the initial landing page, that goes against a metric called bounce rate.

Websites that have high bounce rates are essentially telling the search engines that the site is not providing the content that people are searching for and the rankings will be impacted because of this.

So now that you know how to SEO an article, you should still have high-quality content.Check ways to write content that people read.

Mobile Friendly:

Google recently had a major update to their search algorithm, referred to by some as “Mobilegeddon”.

Basically, what this update was focused on was bringing a quality user experience for those that are searching from a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet.

Because close to 50% of Google searches are performed from a mobile device, it is important to ensure your website is Google mobile friendly.

If not, you will not get any of that mobile traffic. While this isn’t really an SEO tip just for a single article, it is more of a site-wide SEO tip, because if you already know how to write SEO content for website, you should not miss on that traffic because your site is not mobile friendly.

Long Tail Keywords:

Using keyword phrases that are low in competition will be a big help when trying to get better rankings in the search engines.

It is much more difficult to rank for one to two-word keywords (also known as head keywords) as you will typically be competing against the larger corporations and sites that are well established and considered to be “authorities”, because of their age and amount of content that these sites will have.

There are a number of tools that can assist with the research of keywords, I personally use Jaaxy, because I find it to be very user-friendly and it is also very affordable.

It has helped me come up with a lot of great long tail keywords, like “How To SEO An Article”, which is the one that I’ve used in this post.

Frequency And Consistency:

Search engines eat up new content, so if you are adding content to your site on a regular basis, you should see a bump in rankings.

The more content that you have, the more opportunities you have to rank for more keywords, which should result in more traffic.

It’s also helpful to try to maintain a consistent posting schedule. If you can only post once a week, try to do it on the same day each week. Same applies if you’re able to post several times each week.

What you’ll want to avoid is posting one day and then not again for three weeks. Then post two days later with nothing to follow for a month.

If you’re struggling with how to get blog content, there are freelancing websites where you can have articles written for a prize as mentioned on this post.

Methods That Don’t Work For SEO:

Trying to get tricky with the search engines can land you in some seriously hot water. If your website is important to you, I would advise you to not try it.

Search engines penalize websites by placing them on a “blacklist”, and once they are on that list any rankings that the site once had are gone.

While it is possible to request removal, there are no guarantees and most sites will never recover. They just end up fading away into cyberspace wasteland.

So Let’s Go Over Some Techniques To Avoid In SEO

Forcing The Use Of Keywords:

Overdoing the use of keywords in your article can have the opposite effect of that in which your after.

Not only can you be penalized for forcing the use of them, but it will be an instant turn off to the visitors of your site and will drive them away as fast as they arrived. If you want the right way on how to SEO an article, do not force the use of keywords.

Use keywords naturally within your content and spread them out throughout the entire article.

Keyword Stuffing:

Cornbread stuffing is good, keyword stuffing, not so much. Keyword stuffing is basically a little trick that used to work, but not now.

Crafty webmasters would leave a bunch of “white space” at the bottom of their posts and then after they finished with the article they would flood this empty space with keywords.

To mask the keyword stuffing so that the website’s visitors didn’t see what they were doing, the webmaster would color the font to match the background. This made the text invisible to the reader, but the search engines would pick it up in the coding.

Highly Competitive Keywords:

While using competitive keywords won’t get you in trouble with the search engines, it will make it very difficult to get any type of meaningful rankings. Only about 8% of searches go on to the second page of results.

So if you’re targeting super competitive keywords and ending up on page 40, you can imagine that amount of visitors you’re going to get… zero

Quick Recap On How To SEO An Article For Your Website:

  • Find low competition, long tail keywords.
  • Use the keyword phrase in your Title <H1> tag.
  • Use your keyword in the Meta description.
  • Use the keyword phrase in your post URL.
  • Use the keyword in a relevant image file name and in the Alt tag.
  • Try to use the keyword in the opening paragraph of your article, and then use it sparingly and only when it naturally fits in the content from that point forward.
  • Use other header tags throughout the article to break up your content and try to use the keyword in one more of the tags, preferably the <H2>.
  • Avoid shady “Black Hat” techniques that can end up costing you big in the long run.

I hope you’ve found this post informative and that it helps you not only with the proper ways to use SEO to your advantage, but also keeps you from making some mistakes that could end up costing you big in the long run.

How To Write Good Website Content

When you start out building your website, one of the things you have read or heard about is that Content is king and the importance of it. There are sites online with great content and then there are those which have truly great Content.

The latter are the ones that attract and retain their readers because the creator has had a plan in place and used all the resources available to them.

What I’m going to cover on this page are such strategies to help you build not just a good site that will be indexed and liked by the search engines how to write good website content that will attract your readers in a way that will bring referrals and repeat business to your site.

Remember that if content is king then traffic is queen when it comes to your website, without traffic, you can as well stop blogging. If no one is reading your content that you spent hours creating then all was for nothing.

My 5 tips to Creating High-Quality Content.

1- Know your Audience.

If you are going to provide a service then you need to know what kind of person you will be creating your content for. The content that you will be writing has to be engaging and interesting for your readers to stay on your site.Vote, Crowd, Conference, Group

Research is key here and in particular where your niche market is concerned.

You are lucky in this respect as there is invaluable of information to use and apply your own knowledge on your particular area.

When I write for my sites I put myself in the position and perspective of my readers, think about what it is I am looking for, where did I start looking? What search engine did I use and in particular what Keywords did I use for my search(check an earlier post on writing content that people read).

Was the information useful and was I satisfied my question or search was answered?

The point I’m making here is, the better the user experience you provide the better your site will fair against all the others out there that claim to provide a good service if they do not know how to write good website content.

There is nothing wrong with looking at other sites for ideas to see how you can improve on what they offer as I’m sure they all do the same.

Having said that, do not copy any content from another site as it’s a big no-no and would only harm what you are setting out to do.Look for inspiration but do not copy.

After all, you want your site to be as unique and refreshing as you can make for the readers.

2-Vary The Length of Your Pages.

Does your page need to have thousands of words to make great content?Your readers and Google does like pages of content without a doubt but that does not mean every page has to be identical in length and also we come back to the readers experience on your site. How To Write Good Website Content

I aim to write between 500 to 1500 words per article but I do like to vary the size of each page, just remember you can revisit your pages at any time and review and add to what you have created and these pages can be used for fresh content.

My top tip on how to write good website content is that if the quality is great and you`re struggling to finish that 400-word post, go ahead and publish, your readers want quality, not quantity.Check this post on Quality content.

3- Plan a Strategy for your Content.

What do I mean by that? Well you have to know what it is you are marketing and how you need to go about this.

Do not focus on conversions when setting out on creating your masterpiece, create a website that will give your traffic an experience that will encourage them to return and or share what they have read, seen or bought.

This strategy will reap its own rewards if you simply set your goals on the readers’ experience and what they will gain from taking the time to read all that you are offering.

Will your content be marketed in the form of a blog site where you can put your own personal stamp on a niche market and reach out to your readers or a pure marketing information site which will deal with purely factual information for the reader?

Plan a calendar for writing new pages or posts and this is where the commitment will start and once you do this you will find that you will be able to structure site and the time you spend on it.

Making full use of Social media like Twitter, Google + and Facebook to reach out to a wider audience.

4-The Visual content you use can have an impact.

You obviously want to attract visitors to your site and of course writing informative and engaging content will do this but you need to provide a visual impact on your readers.Child, Soap Bubbles, Fun, Face, Funny

Let’s face how many times have you been browsing and seen a header that grabs your interest and clicked on the link and was bombarded with a mass of text that although was interesting it ultimately switched you off and move away from that page?

Personally, I am a visual searcher, that does not mean I ignore the text presented to me it just means a visually pleasing image will keep my interest a lot longer than a site that looks like a sea of words.

5-Reuse Content.

As your site develops and you create pages upon pages of great content you may find that you think you have covered just about everything that you need for a successful website, and in part, you may be right.

However, if you just sit back and wait for your business to grow all by itself, what will happen is that while you have a decent amount of traffic all your efforts will end up in the great cyber dustbin.

In actual fact, the post or page you create will have a wealth of subcategories all of their own.

As an exercise I will often revisit older posts and write a list of subjects covered on a notepad and to my surprise, in the beginning, I found this to be very helpful as I thought I might struggle to maintain the level of content writing and fresh new ideas.

Check older posts and see what you can do, how you can use them to create new content.

  • Do look at other blogs to get more website content writing tips, not every content is written the same.

I hope you enjoyed this post and learned how to write good website content if you know anyone that can benefit please go ahead and share with them on your favorite social media. If you have any questions, please leave me a message below.

How To Come Up With Blog Ideas

As a blogger, I`m sure you`ve heard the word “content is king”? if not, you`ll hear it a lot in the future.

This seems like the most common tip or words of advice that one will get when going to different “how to blog” websites.

You know why we hear this so often? There’s a good reason for it and that’s because …… content is king. The problem most of us have though is how to come up with blog ideas to write about in the first place.

When we first start creating our blogs we have so many ideas of topics that we want to share with others. However, it seems like in no time at all we get through those initial ideas and then we’re left wondering what our next post is going to be about.

Sound familiar? If so, I’ve got 12 great ideas that I think you’ll be able to use.

If not yet, come back to this post when you hit that wall, we all do, any serious blogger comes to a point where they can’t figure how to come up with blog ideas.

Top 10 Tips On How To Come Up With Blog IdeasBlog post ideas

1-Know Your Niche:

Staying on top of the latest news and trends for your given niche(read more about niches here)will get you far in the blogging world. We live in a world that is full of fast-paced change.

Sometimes, this change can be tough to keep up with, but one thing that it will always provide is something new to write about.

2-Subscribe To Google Alerts:

Google alerts provide a great way to stay on top of new information that can be used to for writing new content.

If you have a Gmail account, you can use the link above and select just about any topic, or niche that you want and have an email sent to you whenever there are new stories posted.

There are many different options that can be selected to determine the sources and frequency of the alerts.

3-Ask Your Readers For Topics That They Would Like To Read About

Whether you’re asking for suggestions in the comments section of your posts, or using social media to do this, engage with your readers and see what they would like to read.

Gather these as this is another sure way on how to come up with blog ideas and you`ll be writing what your readers want to read, for example, if you have a sports site would your readers want to know what`s going on in that sports or about specific goods?

4-Write A Product ReviewHow To Come Up With Blog Ideas

Whatever the topic of your blog, it is likely that there are some products or services that you can write reviews on.

This is a great way to share valuable information with your readers while introducing them to something that they may find useful.

Product reviews are something that I personally enjoy doing, as there are some services that I use that I truly believe will also benefit my readers.

In fact, I have done a review of the best program online where I learned to make money online and I received some very positive feedback from people that were looking for a service like this. You can check the review here.

5-Make A VideoProduct Details

Create a relevant video and then embed it into your post and write about that.  I personally have never really been a big fan of getting in front of a camera, especially video cameras, as English is not my first language and since this site is in English it makes sense to record in English.

The great thing about doing a video is that you will get people not only finding your website through the search engines but also when they do searches on YouTube.CHECK THE BEST PODCASTING DIGITAL RECORDER FROM Amazon

6-Record Yourself Talking

Turn on a voice recorder and just start talking to yourself. Do a little brainstorming. Bounce some ideas around and just say everything out loud.

Once done, you may find that you’ve come up with some really good ideas for content. This can be a lot more effective than just sitting down and trying to think of things silently in your mind

7-Reshare Old Post

If your blog has been established for a while, you likely have a fair amount of content already published, go through those old articles to see if there are any that can be improved upon, updated, or rewritten with new changes.

Make sure that you actually do a rewrite and don’t just copy the content from an old post and paste it into a new one. You don’t want to have duplicate content on your site.

8-Outsourcing

This is something that a lot of people have had a lot of success with. There are sites such as iWriter.com  where one can hire writers that are well versed in all sorts of writing styles.Check an earlier post here on hiring freelance writers.

Simply post a job and then get recommendations for writers that meet your criteria. From there, go through their portfolios and find a writer that you feel comfortable working with.

9-Be Active In Your NicheLabel, Social, Media, Forum, Chat

Participate in different online communities, groups, and forums. Communicate with others that are in your niche. Share information and see what topics others are talking about. This is a great source of finding ideas to write about.

10-Check Out The Competition

Often times we can go through our competitors sites and get some great ideas to write about. Now, by no means am I suggesting that you actually copy others content word-for-word.

Rather, use this information for inspiration. Get some new ideas and then go out and create your own fantastic content!

If the search engines find that your content is copied from another site, you can and will be punished.

Conclusion

I hope I’ve been able to provide you with a few new ideas that will make writing new content a little easier for you.

In fact, if you have some other methods on how to come up with blog ideas that you use and I haven’t mentioned, please leave a comment below and tell me about it. Let’s share the knowledge.

How To Define A Target Audience

One of the most crucial things that we need to do is define who our customers are. At the end of this post, you will understand how to define a target audience so you can write posts that they read.

Defining our target audience is going to be key in determining how to market our products or services to get the most of what we are trying to sell.

It is not to say that we are targeting everyone that would be interested in what we are offering, but rather we should focus on a very specific group of people that would most benefit from the products or services that we are offering be it digital products or physical products.

Opportunity For Everyone!

We are truly blessed to be living in a time that even the smallest start-ups have the ability to compete with the largest of corporations.

By having an online presence, we open our businesses up to the entire world. However, it’s just not realistic to focus on the entire population, but rather a small, defined segment. This is referred to as niche marketing.

How To define A Target Audience

By focusing in on this smaller audience, we will really be able to target those that are most likely to be interested in our products, and as an added bonus, we will develop an authority within our particular niche.

How To Define A Target Audience

The first step on how to define a target audience will be to ask what is a target audience and then to determine our particular niche. For example, someone that has a cleaning business could of course state that their niche is cleaning homes, but that would be way too broad.

We need to narrow this down as much as possible, so let’s ask some questions to help do that.

  • Does the cleaner focus more on the interior or exterior jobs?
  • What city does the cleaner live in and depending on the size of the city, what part of town does he/she reside?
  • Does the cleaner focus more on new home construction, private homes or offices?
  • Are homes even in the equation, or does the cleaning business do more commercial jobs?
  • How about large buildings and apartment complexes?

By asking and then answering some simple questions, we will be able to really pinpoint who our likely customers would be and then advertising can be focused on those specific groups.

Take your own business and try to break it down in a similar way to determine what your niche market is.

The previous questions were focusing on a cleaning business, but here are some general questions that may help you identify the demographics of your own niche market. How To define A Target Audience

  • What products or services do you offer?
  • Are there any geographical considerations for your business?
  • Does your product or service appeal to a specific gender?
  • Are there income considerations for your target audience?
  • What hobbies and activities do your customers participate in?
  • What age group would your most likely customer fall into?
  • Is your customer likely to have children?
  • What occupations would be most interested in your products or services?
  • Are your customers retired?
  • Would your services be geared towards single or dual income families?
  • Are education levels a factor for the services or products that you provide?

Those are just a few examples that I’ve pulled off of the top of my head. I’m sure with a little bit of focus on your individual offerings, you will easily come up with some other ideas that would help you determine the target audience for your particular business.

Now that we’ve invested a little time to determine who our targeted customers are, let’s focus a little on appealing to them.

Marketing To A Target Audience

It is important that we are able to identify with our customers in order to effectively communicate with them. People that are considering parting with their money want to feel comfortable with the people that they are doing business with.

By learning about our customers and communicating with them in a manner that builds trust, we will be more likely to convert visitors into paying customers.

What is it that we’re offering that sets our business apart from the others that are out there?

Why should our prospective customers turn into actual paying customers? Identify what makes you unique in your business and then let your customers know what this is. Give them a reason to buy from you.

Solve Your Audience ProblemHow To Define A Target Audience and find readers to your blog

Remember that when people are searching the internet and make their way to your websites, they are usually trying to find an answer to something. Keep this in mind when creating content.

Your web pages should be informative to your readers. The goal is to provide valuable and useful information that will keep your visitors engaged and keep them on your site.

Useful information builds trust and trust will result in conversions.

Make your content unique, remember that every post you write, there are thousand similar out there, make yours better don`t settle for average.Every content you write should target a low competition keyword.I use this tool to find low competition keywords.

You can have 30 searches free if you click here

While the terms on your site may or may not make sense to a casual visitor, those that you are targeting would know what you are referring to and they would feel that you are one of their own.

Conclusion

I hope that I’ve been able to help you learn how to define a target audience for your particular niche.

The narrower you go the better and remember a niche can never be too narrow, I hear people say things like” ladies clothes is too narrow a niche” and I say that is too broad a niche.

Remeber the broader your niche is, the harder it will be marketing to a target audience.

It is always important that we learn how to write content that will be helpful and appeal to our target audiences.

Helpful content will make it easier to build trust with your website visitors. This trust will end up resulting in conversions and also better exposure, as people that trust you will be more likely to recommend and share your site with others.

How To Find A Freelance Writer

If you’re not a good writer, or you want to begin spending more time in other areas of your company, hiring freelance writers would be a right decision for your company. In today’s hectic lifestyles, nobody has time to do everything they want.

As a small business owner, you already have a whole lot on your plate with having to build a clientele and ensuring your business succeeds. There is more or less no time for one to do the writing needed for the firm and there’s a great deal of it.

From the copy of your brochure to the writing on your website, to press releases to get detected, to articles to submit to e-zines to improve your web traffic, to introduction and sales letters, there aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done. This article will point you on where and how to find a freelance writer for your site.

Lack of time might be an issue, but also for many people, the writing itself is enough to cause problems. What’s SEO and how do you do it? What’s the top method to produce a buzz about your company?  Do you need a blog? What about these e-zines? What are those all about?

How can you create an interesting article that’s more than keyword phrases blasted all over the area? This is where all of the difference can be made by finding a freelance writer to your organization and you.

An experienced freelance writer has the knowledge to help you in the areas listed above, as well as to draft the copy you require. Better yet, when you pass the writing off to somebody else, you can dedicate more time to what you do best – focusing on your own business.

Therefore, in case you decide to engage the services of a writer, how will you know the individual you select has the skills to get the task done? Where does one go to find quality writers that produce exceptional content?

This article will show you a lot of sources which you can use to find a freelance writer.

Find Freelance Writers From Freelance Websites

How To Find A Freelance Writer

You will be given the opportunity to locate thousands upon thousands of freelancers searching for work by going to different freelance sites. Here, they submit bids for the jobs which you post to these websites. So to locate someone extremely affordable isn’t unusual on these websites.

One of the greatest methods for getting fresh and new online content, web development, editing or other services, is to go with freelancers. There are several paths you can go to locate freelancers to your business.

It’s necessary that you know what kind of relationship you need to have with the freelancers you hire and exactly what you expect from them. When the services you need are just short term, then it is better to go to a freelance site where there are general freelancers in various disciplines and genres.

One day you can get a website editor, and another day a technical support specialist. You’re able to develop a connection using a couple of men and women in different fields and get a feel of the type of service they provide on the website, and how qualified they are.

Then anytime you decide you need some new input, you’ve got a freelance writing website in which you will find freelancers for your company, and have the capability to do anything you want to be done.

Best Freelance Websites To Find Freelancers

  • Websites like UpWork,
  • UpWork,
  • iwriter.com
  • Freelancer.com,
  • Fiverr,
  • Scripted,
  • TextBroker and BlogMutt have large networks of freelancers of all kind – you can find freelancers who do everything from business card design to website development to writing.

You’ll have access to tons of writers, rated by previous customers to make finding a good writer with expertise in your business easier. It will be easy for you to “test out” different writers and move on from those whose work you don’t like.

Some platforms allow you to post your jobs and get multiple entries from various writers, meaning you’ll have the ability to see different takes on what you are asking for and decide the one you like best.

How To Find A Freelance Writer On Craigslist

How To Find A Freelance Writer

Posting job ads in Craigslist is also an additional method to locate freelance writers from other countries.

You need to ensure that when you are running multiple job posts in Craiglist that they’re all different and unique.  If they’re not, you may see your advertising will get deleted. This is because of their spam filters. If you are not receiving the results that you need it is because nobody sees your advertising.

Secondly, be certain the people you’re hiring use a payment gateway that protects you from fraudulent work. Moneybookers, PayPal or Payza is fantastic methods to pay these freelancers for their work.

You can open a dispute for the payment and get your hard earned money back when there is an issue with the contractor, and also the quality of work delivered. Never send money via WU to a freelancer abroad. The possibility of you obtaining the work is slim and you regaining your lost funds, quite impossible.

Too many scammers out there or you may get poor quality work.Read my earlier post on poor quality freelance jobs here.

Middlemen

One more way to locate freelancers for your own business will be to use a middleman. You can find somebody or a team that has an established reputation or a large, general freelancing site or agency. They choose the applications they like and will screen your applicants, or use people they use on a regular basis.

As an example, in the event you are looking for writers, they would pick the writers and send the orders out. You may pay a little more so that your time is well utilized because they also assign, screen and edit your selected work.

Approach the writers of your favorite blog directly.

How To Find A Freelance Writer

Look at who’s writing the information on business blogs and your chosen marketing and assess which voices you prefer. Many articles are written by freelance writers, and with social media search or an instant Google, you ought to be able to find the ones you prefer and contact them directly.

As a last note, consider that which you desire before you hire freelance writers online.Be certain that your expectations are on par with what the writer can deliver.

While a talented and seasoned freelance writer can help you promote your company through excellent articles, every other thing that has to do with the success of your business depends on you. To put it differently, good writing might help a company get discovered — but good business is the one thing which will keep your company in business.

Conclusion

With the many freelance writing sites out there and freelance writers all competing for jobs, know that quality comes first be ready to get some disappointments but if you`re not happy with the work, ask for a refund, don`t settle for less. Mistakes are unavoidable so do not be harsh on yourself if you make them. Instead, learn from them. Read how to write content that people read.

The following are some content writing mistakes usually made and how you can avoid them.

Forgetting The Audience

Content is created mainly for the audience so you should always have it in mind when writing. Do not just tell your audience things they already know, tell them something unique that will solve their problems or answer its questions.

• Relying on A Spell-check

Do not rely too much on a spell-check. Words with the same sound but different meanings (homophones) cannot be recognized by them.

Being Wordy

When explaining a particular point, keep it simple. Use few words to explain it without distorting its original meaning.

• Relying On An Online Thesaurus

You need to read and write a lot so as to avoid relying on an online thesaurus. There are some words it suggests that can wreck your sentences. You just have to be confident in your words.

Fancy Synonyms

Always keep your writing simple. Write as if you are explaining something to a ten-year-old. Instead of “abode” use “home.” This way, your content will be appealing to people of all ages.
Incorrect Punctuation

Usage of commas can be very tricky. For instance, we pause when speaking but that should not be the case when writing. They can change the meaning of a sentence if they are used in the wrong place.

Use of Shifting Tenses

These should not be used when writing. For instance, do not use verb shifts such as avoid using verb shifts like, “affects” instead of “affected”. Pronoun shifts such as “you” and “one’s” also need to be avoided.

Use of Qualifiers and intensifiers
Their use should be minimal. Qualifiers such as pretty, sort of, somewhat and intensifiers such as very, absolutely, really, extremely, among others should not be used often.
Use of “Skunked” words
These are words used differently from their original meaning. For instance, do not write “backward” in place of “behind.”

This makes the writing enjoyable. Freelance content writers have the freedom to come and go at the job any-time they want to as it is that it’s not a full-time employment. When just getting started, you can keep your day job and write evenings to increase your income.

Computer, Apple, Business, Workplace

Competition is very high considering there might actually be better writers out there. It becomes stressful for content writers to explore which way to make money since there are dozens of choices. At times, one gets impatient clients who demand the work almost immediately after giving it.

It’s discouraging for writers to go on working for them. Although some tend to overlook the issue of taking a break from the writing, this is very important since the mind does get tired no matter how good you might be in your writing.

Dom at Humanproofdesigns delivers premium articles written by native English speakers at very fair prices. But, if you are looking for a single article iwriter.com has freelancers for this.

Just be sure to choose who you hire, there is some very low-quality work out there, interview the person you want to hire to make sure they understand exactly what you want, do not feel under pressure to hire anyone unless you are satisfied. You can read my post on Fiverr complaint here.

Just remember the cheaper you pay the less quality you will get but there are still good freelancers out there, keep searching.Read Steve from ivetriedthat.com tips to outsourcing.

Disadvantages For The Client, Why You Should Not Outsource

Because the freelance content writers work from their homes, how they do their work cannot be supervised and this proves to be tough at times.

  • Freelance content writers are at liberty to quit the job at any time unlike full time employed personnel. They also choose who to work for in accordance to who pays highest.
  • You might have a freelance worker today and they decide to quit tomorrow without notice.
  • Some freelance writers will write poor quality content that you are forced to correct once they deliver and this ends up costing you more time than if you had written the content originally.

If you have reliable and efficient writers, you may forget how to write good content. If you hire writers due to lack of time and you need content that`s ok, but if you`re hiring freelance writers because you are insecure about your ability to write my advice will be to start writing, you will improve the more you write.
Conclusion
Being good freelance content writers entails so much more than just writing. The secret is passion and gaining more experience. Most of all, be sensible.
